Reduce, Reuse, Remain Healthy
It's no myth that drinking from a water bottle that's been in a hot car all day can be bad for you. Many plastic products, including water bottles, contain a chemical called Bisphenol A (BPA), which can leach into the contents of the product when heated. A study by the Food and Drug Administration shows that BPA has possible health effects on the brain, metabolism, mammary and prostate glands. Although BPA is said to be harmless at low levels, it's better to be safe than sorry. There are many alternatives to plastic including glass, porcelain, or stainless steel. Next time you think about drinking from a water bottle, make sure you reduce your risk and reuse your BPA-free alternative.
